Born in Sai Gon on March 30, 1975, Cam Ly is one of Vietnam’s most loved pop singers. She first gain the public’s attention in 1993 after winning first prize in a city-wide duet singing competition along with her sister. Soon after, Cam Ly signed to Kim Loi Studio one of Vietnam’s most prestigious record labels and officially entered the professional path of singing. Her career started to bloom since then. She is the recipient of numerous national music awards for her talent and contribution to the music industry. Recently, Cam Ly’s dominant genre of music is Southern Vietnam folk music. This complete change received both positive and negative responses.  However, it is undeniable that she is also good folk music. She is loved not only for her beautiful voice but also for her personality traits. Although she is successful singer, she lives a simple and peaceful life. She is one of very few singers who has never involved in any scandals.
